Hardware for self-hosting

Currently, I don’t have much access to hardware when it comes to self-hosting. But I do what I can with software! So what makes this entire project possible?

Main Virtualization Server (Scorchrazor):

The mighty Scorchrazor, name given to my server as a homage to Kalla Scorchrazor from Guild Wars 2. I play as a renegade and she grew on me 🙂 so why not.

Specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4200U
Ram: 12GB (DDR3L 1600MHz)
Storage: 240GB Questionable Kingston A400 SSD
Secondary Storage: NAS with 8.16TB total
Operating System: Proxmox VE

Secondary Virtualization Server (Kralkatorrik):

Name based on one of the elder dragons from Guild Wars 2. It’s the Elder Dragon of Crystal and Fury and it’s one of my favourites.

Specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460S
Ram: 12GB (DDR3 1600MHz)
Storage: 480GB Questionable Kingston A400 (yep another one) SSD
Secondary Storage: NAS with 8.16TB total
Operating System: Proxmox VE

Network Attached Storage (NAS, Dragonclaw):

Dragonclaw, the name I created myself thinking about dragons, I like them lol. It’s an old boy (maybe even as old as a dragon jk) but still does his job. It`s a machine that in the past was used to host some Minecraft instances, they were pure vanilla as those who requested didn’t cared much about mods.

Specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Quad Q6600
Ram: 3GB (DDR2)
Storage:
1x 4TB HDD Seagate Compute
1x 2TB HDD Seagate Compute
1x 3TB HDD Seagate IronWolf
1x 500GB HDD Seagate Barracuda (Boot Drive)
OS: Windows Server 2012 Datacenter
Network Card: Intel Gigabit Ethernet Card

Other Things:

  • Firewall (Running Inside Virtualization Server): Pfsense
  • Independent machine also running Pfsense (it copies settings from the virtual environment after they have been tested)
  • ISP Router
  • 3x Cat 6e 3m Ethernet Cables
